The Pennsylvania Western District United States District Court
Being a native of Pittsburgh, Chuck Alpern, has tried many civil trial cases, starting in 1970 when he was admitted to the Federal and State Courts. Chuck started working in Pittsburgh at a defense firm. He acquired trial practice in property and automobile personal injury cases, legal and medical malpractice, and insurance matters. He began concentrating on medical malpractice claims by joining a regional defense firm in 1979. In 1985, he opened his firm. He expanded the type of cases he took to insurance coverage cases and claims, contract litigation, and plaintiff’ personal injury cases. Today, Chuck still represents defendant and plaintiff litigants with years of experience as a trial lawyer.
Chuck formed Alpern Schubert P.C. Personal Injury Attorneys with Richard Schubert in 2006. Both attorneys were able to offer many years of experience with trial practices. Since 1990, Mr. Alpern has been an outstanding associate of the esteemed Trial Lawyers Academy of Allegheny County. Merely the best 250 trial attorneys have been able to join this professional organization. Such a prestigious organization has only a few seats, with up to 8000 Allegheny County attorneys vying for a seat. Garnering such a seat is done by peers, once they have obtained recommendations from trial lawyers and judges. Additional committees that he has served on at the Bar Association of Allegheny County and Academy, include the Committee for Alternative Dispute Resolutions. Mr. Alpern has also been dubbed a PA Super Lawyer in the Pennsylvania Magazine for two consecutive years, 2007 and 2008.
Throughout his 30 years of practicing law, Chuck has represented defendants and plaintiffs with great success. He has garnered an exceptional status for thoroughness, fairness, and integrity, and is held in high esteem in the legal community of Western Pennsylvania. He has been involved in over 900 court cases such as Federal District Court cases, private arbitrations, mediations, tort litigation, and underinsured and uninsured motorist arbitrations.
