David C. Brumfield was born in Trenton, NJ, and grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs. In 1996, he graduated from Duke University Law School and returned to his home in Philadelphia to begin his career in law. He was hired to work for Stephen Scheuerle, who was a partner at the law firm Gallagher, Reilly and Lachat. The firm handled mainly litigation matters, so David was able to get an extensive amount of trial experience within just a few months of joining the firm.

In 1997, David moved his family to the Pittsburgh, PA area, because he believed the area would be a great place to raise a family. He joined the Tucker Arensberg P.C. litigation department and within a year of joining the firm, he got the experience that he had been looking for by trying two cases solo in the Alleghany Common Pleas Courts. In 1999, he began working with Charles Alpern at Kiger & Alpern. Attorney Alpern mentored him, and he was able to gain a significant amount of experience in all trial law matters. Through the years, he developed his skills and has become a highly reputable attorney in the State of Pennsylvania as a result. In 2006, attorney Brumfield joined Charles Alpern at the newly established Alpern Schubert P.C. Personal Injury Attorneys. After joining the firm, he was able to learn from attorney Richard Schubert as well, which only gave him, even more experience. Since 1997, when his legal career began, David has handled many types of cases, including bad faith actions, auto claims, trip / slip and fall cases, employment matters, and contract disputes. He currently lives with his wife Michelle and their children in Mt. Lebanon, and since relocating to Pittsburgh, he has been heavily involved in community activities to give back to the city since it has offered so much to his family. David attends Sunset Hills Presbyterian Church where he is an elder, and he is also a Sunday school teacher at the church for high school aged students. He is a coach and a member of the board of directors of the football association of Mt. Lebanon as well.
